This
book is mysteriously good! Yes, it’s indeed a mystery book. And
since it is so good, I should tell you a little bit about it.
Don’t you think that’s a good idea too? Thought so. So better tell
you about it. Since this is the sixth book in the series, it
doesn’t say much about Sammy’s lifestyle, so I better explain that
first. Sammy’s full name is Samantha Keyes but she prefers Sammy,
because it suits her personality, adventurous! She lives with her
grandmother, whom she calls “Grams.” Her parents are divorced and
neither of them lives with Sammy. Her mom is still in contact with
them, but her dad is somewhere unknown to Sammy. Neither Grams nor
her mom ever told Sammy, so she’s given up asking about it.
Marissa McKenze is Sammy’s best friend, and Marissa is only other
person who knows about Sammy’s mom and dad.
In this book, Sammy finds out where her mom is, Hollywood! Her
mom’s name is Lana Keyes, and she’s been in many commercials. Then
why didn’t Sammy realize her? It’s because her mom changed
everything about her, her name, her look, her age and anything
else that made her Lana. Now she’s Dominique Windsor, (that takes
even longer to say, and there isn’t any good short form).
Recently, “Dominique” invited her mother, Grams to come over.
That’s how Sammy found out. Boy, if that were my mom, I would
visit her and knock some sense to her, and that’s exactly what
Sammy did. She asked if Marissa wanted to come along for the
journey, and she said yes. I think it’s because it’s Hollywood,
where the stars are, (the movie stars not the real ones). It was a
Friday before a three-day weekend, so they decided to go
today. Off they went.
When they arrived, they were really scared, because it seemed that
all of the non-stars around Hollywood were dirty, evil and
dangerous. Marissa wanted to go home, but Sammy wanted to find her
long, lost mom. By nightfall, they were still looking for
Dominique, and at that moment Sammy saw her mom. Whoa, she really
was different, cut her hair short, and dyed it blond! Dominique
already knew they were coming, because Grams called, and she found
out when the girls were at the bus stop. Grams forced the girls to
tell. Dominique was furious, and forced them to call her Aunt
Dominique and that they were both cousins. Sammy and Marissa had
to agree, there wasn’t much else to do. The two girls slept over
in Dominique’s friend’s (whose name is LeBrandi) apartment,
because Dominique’s apartment has one bed, but
LeBrandi has two, but Dominique slept with them too.
The next day, LeBrandi was found dead in Dominique’s bed.
Shocking, I know, but many of the other actresses didn’t seem to
care less! It was scary for Sammy, because LeBrandi looked exactly
like her mom, imagine if that were her mom! Hey! Sammy then found
out that whoever killed LeBrandi wanted to kill her mother, but
who? Later that day, Dominique told Sammy that the owner and an
agent of Sunset Strip (that’s the place where the actresses live)
asked her to marry him. Sammy was in shock; she didn’t want a new
dad! Max did have a former wife, Claire, but sadly, she died in a
car crash. Then she got something, whoever tried to kill her mom,
wanted to because of the fact that Max going to marry Dominique.
She then collected two possible suspects: Reena and Inga. Reena
was one of the actresses there who was in love with Max, so she
could’ve done it. Inga is Max’s sister, and she could’ve done so
she can inherit Max’s fortune. If Max marries
Dominique, Inga won’t inherit the fortune, Dominique will. That’s
another suspect.
The next day, Sammy and Marissa dug up some juicy facts. Sammy
wanted to break in Max’s office, but Marissa was scared, but went
along anyway. Sammy found a secret room, and in that room there
was a sarcophagus. Inside it, was a real mummy, and that mummy was
Claire. Marissa found out it was Claire, because she saw a music
box with her name on it. Then it hit Sammy, Max thought that her
mom had Claire’s very own spirit, because Dominique and Claire had
so many likenesses, and when Claire and Dominique both have the
same birth date. But Dominique had a fake ID, so her birth date
wasn’t the same, but Max doesn’t know that. Sammy also found out
that Max was the
murderer, because it was written that he has cancer, so if
Dominique and Max both die together, they can start a new life
together in the afterlife. Weird, but Max really believed this.
Now the question is: Does Sammy’s mother, Lana Keyes or you can
say Dominique Windsor gets murdered by Max? I don’t know, actually
I do, but I’m not telling you! You just have to read the book
yourself. Boy, it’s good!
