HAMPTON AND ETHNIC MEDIA D
ISCUSS REAL ISSUES!

NDP Leader Howard Hampton with ethnic media membersQueen's Park - NDP Leader Howard Hampton's ethnic media roundtable discussion yesterday focused on the issues that really matter to Ontario's diverse communities. "You can count on New Democrats to stand up for issues that matter Most -first-class health care, good schools, job accreditation, public auto insurance and making sure families can make it from paycheque to paycheque," Hampton said.

Discussing the legislature's Spring session, Hampton noted the McGuinty Liberal government has continued to disappoint the people of Ontario With
weak leadership, excuses and broken promises. "The McGuinty government has proven it is more interested in banning pitbulls and picking fights with the federal government and doctors than keeping its promises to ordinary Ontarians on the issues that matter most," Hampton said. "From pay-more, get-less health care to broken promises to our most vulnerable citizens, halfway through this session, the McGuinty government has delivered only Liberal letdowns and the politics of distraction."

Hampton celebrated the wealth of diversity in the room and the important role played by journalists in providing a voice to their communities, And
in turn making sure that the government hears those voices.  "Ontario's multicultural communities are fundamental to strengthening our economy
and workforce."

Hampton said, "While Ontario's ethno-cultural communities are right to be disappointed with all the Liberal letdowns, you can count on New Democrats
to hold Dalton McGuinty's feet to the fire and make sure he keeps his promises - for a change."
